NEXT DADS AND KIDS DINNER

The next dads and kids and RAM (Responsible Adult Male) dinner is on Monday night the 20th August.
Time 6.00pm til 8.00pm at the Goolwa Childrens Centre. Apparently the dinner will be tacos and people will need to bring a torch???

Goolwa Dad's and Kid's dinners

There has been some talk of combining one of the Men's Get Togethers ( Most often held in Victor) and  one of the Goolwa Dad's and Kid's dinners ( Most often held in Goolwa) together. More men meeting more men. Sounds like a winner to me.

Dads and kids dinners at Goolwa

When I was a boy some of my favourite times were spent with just me and my dad, or with me and my dad visiting other dads and kids. Well in Goolwa, on the third Monday of every month there is a dads and kids dinner. People tend to think that dads won't show up to organised events like this. I reckon the results of the first Dad and Kids dinner proves this wrong. Eight dads rocked up with myriad kids in tow.

If you are a dad, or if you know a dad (that is pretty much everyone) then you can always either attend this or recommend this to someone.

Goolwa Dad's Group

I went along on Wednesday the 30th November to the Goolwa Dads Group facilitated by David Hammond.

This group was fantastic. The dads that came were all great guys that needed some space from the rigours of fatherhood. Not only was this group fun (with food and drink provided) but it was also educational with discussion about such things as:

• dealing with the stressors of parenting
• how to de stress
• managing discipline as a form of developing relationships between fathers and children

As with many groups of men there were some laughs, a bit of kidding each other and some real sincere support offered to each other.

Ohhh.... and as all parents need. A creche is on site. Awesome.
