In the March 2012 issue of Contemporary Sexuality, the monthly newsletter of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), there is a discussion about the prevalence of vibrator use among men. Ellen
Barnard, owner of A Woman’s Touch, a sex toy store in Wisconsin, tells CS that approximately half of her customers are men and that many of them come to the store and purchase vibrators – either for themselves or a partner. She speculates that men are probably comfortable with vibrators because “they’re tools and guys like tools.”
